Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has asked maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla And Payra to keep hoisted local cautionary signal three as steep pressure gradient persists over north bay.

Under its influence squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, said a latest weather update of BMD.

Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet Divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna And Barishal divisions.

The low lying areas of the coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagherhat, Jhalokathi, Pirozpur, Borguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barishal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and their offshore Islands and Chars are likely to be inundated by the wind driven surge height of 02-03 feet above normal astronomical tide.
