Former AL minister Golam Dastagir Gazi detained

Former Minister and Gazi Group Chairman Golam Dastgir Gazi has been arrested by police.

He was arrested from his residence in Shantinagar of the capital on Saturday (August 24) night.

Paltan Police Station OC Mullah Md. Khalid Hossain confirmed the matter. Khalid Hossain said that Golam was hiding in Dastagir's house to avoid arrest. A team of DB police arrested him from there. He is now in DB office.


Roman Mia (17) who was shot dead by terrorists during the student uprising. After that, Roman's aunt Rina filed a murder case against 105 people including Sheikh Hasina, Golam Dastgir Gazi, and 105 others.

 

It is to be noted that after Sheikh Hasina resigned on August 5 in the face of the student movement, many Awami League ministers-MPs and leaders at various levels went into hiding. Some are able to leave the country but many are being arrested.

 
After Hasina's escape, former law minister Anisul Haq and former prime minister's private industry and investment adviser Salman F Rahman were arrested on August 13.
