Fire at Secretariat building brought under control after six hours: Fire Service

The terrible fire that broke out in Building No. 7 of the Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital has been brought under control after six hours. Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, Kamal, Director General (DG) of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department, informed the media that the fire was brought under control at 8:05 am today, Thursday. According to the Fire Service, they received the news of the fire at 1:52 am yesterday, Wednesday. Fire Service members reached the spot at 1:54 am. Initially, eight units worked to control the fire. Later, the number of units was increased. Finally, 19 units of the Fire Service were working to control the fire. A member of the Fire Service was killed when a truck ran over him while he was trying to extinguish the fire. His name is Sohanur Zaman Nayan. Fire Service Director General (DG) Brigadier General Zahed Kamal gave this information at a briefing at the scene around 6:45 am today. The extent of the damage in the fire was not known, except for the death of a firefighter. The cause of the fire was also not immediately known.
