A case has been filed against 16 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in connection with the death of Jobaid Hossain Emon, a student of Darunnajat Islamia Madrasa of capital's Mohammadpur police station.
On Thursday (August 15), a person named Abdullah Abu Sayeed Bhuiyan filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury.
At that time, the Court accepted the statement of plaintiff and ordered Mohammadpur police station to accept the case.
Unnamed individuals of RAB's helicopter patrol team and their commanding officers were also accused in the case.
Zubayd Hossain Emon was killed by shots fired from a helicopter during the student protests.
Other accused in the case are Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Anisul Huq, Tajul Islam, Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Hasan Mahmud, Mohammad A Arafat, Salman F Rahman, Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, former Inspector General of Police Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhury, former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, Former director general of RAB Harun-ur-Rashid, former additional IGP Dr B Mahid Uddin, DMP Additional Commissioner (Crime) Harun-Or-Rashid and Joint Commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar.
