The Chief Advisor of the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus stated that through a mass uprising, we have earned the right to enter the transformative phase of Bangladesh. To ensure the successful implementation of this transformation, we must commit all our efforts. There is no opportunity for us to turn back.
He made these remarks at the opening ceremony of a dialogue titled "Unity, Reform, and Election," organized by the Forum for Bangladesh Studies (FBS) at the Krishibid Institution in the capital on Friday morning (27 December).
Dr Muhammad Yunus said, "The objective of this desired transformation will be to ensure a political system that eliminates all forms of inequality. It aims to establish a democratic and citizen-equality-based state system in this country."
He added, "Preparations for reform and elections will proceed simultaneously. The commission will organize the elections. Until an election date is announced, citizens are not required to engage in this process, but every citizen must participate in the reform efforts."
The Chief Advisor emphasized, "Without building a justice-based society, the sacrifices of the martyrs of July cannot hold true meaning. Fascism had diverted Bangladesh from all idealistic goals, leading us into profound darkness. We are now working to bring our beloved Bangladesh back on the path of equality, human dignity, and justice. This national dialogue initiated by the Forum for Bangladesh Studies will significantly help us outline and establish our new trajectory."
