The inauguration date for the Agargaon to Motijheel section of the Dhaka metro rail's MRT Line-6 has been pushed back. Instead of the previously scheduled October 20, it will now be inaugurated on October 29.

Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary ABM Amin Ullah Nuri conveyed this to the media while Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Secretary Muhammad Abdur Rauf confirmed it on Monday.

He said DMTCL was informed that the opening of this section is now set for October 29.

Earlier on August 20, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader announced that the Motijheel section of the metro rail would be inaugurated on October 20.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the MRT Line-6.

The metro rail service from Uttara to Agargaon was inaugurated on December 28 last year.

All stations in this section have already been operational. Currently, the metro rail operates from 8am-8pm daily.
