Murder of two siblings in B'baria: Uncle confesses

Instead of returning the money owed by brother-in-law, Badal Mia murdered his nephew and niece at Bancharampur upazila in Brahmanbaria district.

After killing them, he hid the body under the bed and fled, Badal confessed to police.

A press release of the special branch of the district police confirmed the matter.

Bancharampur police said Badal borrowed Tk 13 lakh from his brother-in-law Kamal Hossain to run a shop in Bahrain. He returned Tk 3 lakh.

Badal locked into an altercation with Kamal regarding this around a week ago. Kamal slapped Badal during the altercation.

Later, Badal Mia planned to take revenge out of anger.

On Monday (August 24), his nephew Kamrul  went to his room. Kamal closed the door and played music on loudspeaker. He tied his hand and feet and cut his throat with knife. Later, he hid the body under the bed.

Badal Mia also killed his niece Shifa Akter when she found the body while sweeping.

After hiding the bodies under the bed, he fled away.

Kamal Mia, father of the slain siblings has filed a murder case with Bancharampur Model Police Station.

Shifa was an eighth grader at Bancharampur Girls High School while Kamrul was a class V student at Salimabad Government Primary School.

 

 

Badal Mia was arrested at about 5:00am from Dhaka's Sabujbagh area on Wednesday. He is the son of Abdur Rab, of village Khoda Daudpur under Homna upazila in Cumilla district.
