The Bangladesh Railway will resume services on Sunday with eight coaches. Each coach will carry a limited number of passengers – fifty percent of its capacity.

The price of tickets will remain the same as before, said Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan at a press briefing at the Railway Bhaban on Saturday.

People must purchase tickets online as all ticket counters will remain shut to avoid congestion at stations.

Passengers have to follow health guidelines during the journey and the rules will be strictly followed by the authority, said the minister.

Subarna Express, Sonar Bangla Express, Kalni Express, Panchagarh Express, Banalata Express, Lalmoni Express, Udayan/Paharika Express and Chitra Express will start transporting passengers from Sunday.

Then, from June 3, 11 more trains will join the fleet, which are: Teesta Express, Benapole Express, Nilsagar Express, Rupsha Express, Kapotakkho Express, Modhumoti Express, Meghna Express, Kishoreganj Express, Upakul Express, Brahmaputra Express, and Kurigram Express.

To use the train services, passengers must wear masks when they enter the station area or train. They have to use specific doors for entry and exit, and no one except the passengers will be allowed to enter the platform.

Passengers who intend to travel for a short distance – like Kamalapur to Dhaka Airport, Joydebpur, and Narsingdi – will not enjoy these services.
