The students have blocked the Science Lab intersection demanding the establishment of an Independent public university with the seven government colleges affiliated with the University of Dhaka.
After 12 pm, the students took a protest march from Dhaka College and took a stand at the Science Lab intersection on Tuesday (October 29). Because of the protest, traffic through the Science Lab intersection has come to a standstill, according to eyewitnesses.
The students who participated in the movement said that they were agitating with the logical demand of establishing an independent public university. A reform commission has been formed by the Ministry of Education without taking any initiative to establish a university. We declined this commission. We want the necessary steps to be taken to establish public universities as soon as possible.
In a press conference held at Dhaka College on September 22, students highlighted the problems of seven colleges.
On October 22, seven college students blocked Neelkhet and ScienceLab intersections in the capital. The blockade program runs from 12 pm to 3 pm. In the afternoon, the students gave a 24-hour ultimatum with 3 demands at the Science Lab intersection. Along with that, the program as on that day was announced to be suspended.
In this, the Ministry of Education formed a committee of 13 members to solve the academic and administrative problems of seven colleges. The committee was directed to submit its report with necessary recommendations within the next six weeks.

Seven college university commissions should be constituted immediately.
This commission will scrutinize various issues and formulate an outline within 30 days.
No session block can be created while establishing an independent university. Until the university is established, Dhaka University should continue its activities in such a way that the session does not get jammed.
