Army camps install in all housing in Mohammadpur from today

Bangladesh Army will install a temporary camp in every housing in Mohammadpur from Sunday to prevent terrorism, extortion, and robbery. Army personnel will work round-the-clock to control the law and order situation in the area from these camps.

Major Nazim Ahmed, deputy commander of 23 East Bengal, gave this information at a press conference organized at the army camp in Bachila on Saturday night. Earlier, the army arrested 45 people in raids in various areas of Mohammadpur.


In a press conference, Major Nazim Ahmed said that temporary camps will be installed in different housing areas from Sunday to control the law and order situation in Mohammadpur. A temporary camp will be set up in one of two to three housing areas; From where the army members will control the law and order situation in the entire area.


He said, that on Saturday, Bangladesh Army's 23 East Bengal carried out an operation. A total of 45 terrorists, including two, have been arrested in connection with the brutal robbery at Bachila Supershop. At this time, various indigenous weapons used by them have been recovered.


Stating that 27-28 youth gangs were recovered in Mohammadpur, Major Nazim said, the Geneva camp has about 30-40 percent of them. We have arrested 15 to 16 godfathers or leaders among those arrested. All of them used to extort and rob. Local people including office goers and students are victimized by them.


The army officer also said that RAB and police members were with the army operation and the arrested have been handed over to the police station.
