252 SIs dismissed for disciplinary breaching: Home Adviser

A total of 252 sub-inspectors (SIs) of the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarda of Rajshahi have been relieved on charges of breaching discipline.

 
In this regard, Home Adviser Lieutenant General Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd) said that they were exempted not for political reasons but for breaching discipline, as per local agency reports.

Mr Chowdhury said this while talking to reporters after holding a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Law and Order at the Home Ministry on Tuesday.


Earlier, 252 cadets out of 823 trainee SIs were discharged from the Bangladesh Police Academy at Sarda in Rajshahi on Tuesday (October 22) morning. They were charged with disorderly conduct.


It is to be noted that the training of cadet SI members began on 11 November 2023. This training was supposed to end on November 4 this year.
