Awami League (AL) presidium member Matia Chowdhury has died. She breathed her last on Wednesday afternoon at the capital's Evercare hospital, the hospital's General Manager Arif Mahmud confirmed.
Matia Chowdhury was elected a member of the Parliament six times: in 1991, 1996, 2008, 2014, 2018, and 2024.
She served as the Minister of Agriculture twice. She was lately serving as a presidium member of the Awami League.
