Stating that America has been positive about restoring the GSP status, Finance and Trade Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed said that we have already been asked for the restoration of GSP status. Hopefully, America will look positively towards us from all sides. Therefore they are positive about GSP status.

He said this after the 59th board meeting of the 146th Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute of Export Development Bureau (EPB) at the Secretariat on Sunday.

Salehuddin Ahmed said, now the perspective of the situation has changed. Because of this, the export income will not decrease from before, but will be more. America will also have a positive view from all sides.

He said, there were some informational issues regarding the export. We have discussed these. For those who collect information, we will continue to do so. We will combine all to give the true picture. Each one will give different information, it won't be. There are some differences, admittedly. The great inconsistency will be removed.

The trade adviser said the export target would be reasonable. Exports have different components; will see them. There are different products, let's see them. And the obstacles in the field of export; We will review the regulatory and tax-related ones. Exports should be diversified, that is our aim.

How much can be the growth of export income in the current financial year? When journalists asked such a question, Saheluddin Ahmed said, this time the growth of export income has been estimated at 12.4 percent.
