The Saudi Arabian Embassy has resumed issuing visas to Bangladeshi workers from Wednesday.

Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Bangladesh Isa bin Yusuf Al-Duhailan shared the information after his courtesy call on foreign affairs adviser Md Touhid Hossain.

The ambassador said that they had started issuing visas again.

"The Saudi Embassy is now providing all types of services. Under normal circumstances, an average of five thousand visas were issued daily."

Regarding discussions with the foreign affairs Adviser, the ambassador said: "Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have a historic relationship. We discussed various issues, including economic matters and visa issuance. We hope that stability and peace will soon return to Bangladesh and that the country will enjoy stability."

Recently, there have been reports that Bangladesh's former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, currently in India, has sought asylum in Saudi Arabia.

When asked about this, the ambassador said he had not heard of anything like that.
