BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has finally got her passport which was frozen at the Passport Office for renewing.

The renewed Machine Readable Passport (MRP) was handed over to her representative on behalf of the BNP leader on Wednesday (August 7).

All the procedures for renewing her passport were completed quickly on Tuesday afternoon.

She has been given a green colored passport used by ordinary citizens. It has a duration of 5 years. It will expire on August 5, 2029. The passport names his brother Shamim Iskandar as an emergency contact.

Khaleda Zia submitted her passport in June 2021 for renew. The passport department renewed the old passports and prepared them for delivery. But for some unknown reason, the government finally instructed not to hand over the passport to Khaleda Zia. Even later her renewed passport was cancelled.

It is known that the process of Khaleda Zia’s release process started immediately after the fall of Hasina's government.
