President announces extinction of National Parliament

President Mohammed Shahabuddin announced the extinction of the national parliament.This information was informed in a notice sent by the President's Press Wing on Tuesday (August 6) afternoon.

According to the notice, the National Parliament was dissolved following the decision of three army chiefs, leaders of various political parties, representatives of civil society, and leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement along with President Md. Sahabuddin.

The circular also informed that BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been released. From July 1 to August 5, the anti-discrimination movement and the release of detainees in various cases have started and many have already been released.


Earlier, the anti-discrimination student movement gave an ultimatum to break the parliament by 3 pm. In a video message, the coordinator of the movement, Nahid Islam, said that the fascist Hasina's parliament was not dissolved even after the mass coup. If Parliament is not dissolved by 3 pm today (Tuesday), a strict program will be announced tomorrow. I call upon the revolutionary students to be ready.

Incidentally, Sheikh Hasina left the country after leaving the post of Prime Minister on the eve of the final movement of the students. A military helicopter took Sheikh Hasina to India from Bangabhaban at 2.30 pm on Monday. At that time, his younger sister Sheikh Rehana was with him.
