Nahid Islam, a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has announced that the movement's sole demand is now the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her cabinet.

He also said the coordinators will enforce the non-cooperation movement starting from Sunday to press home their demand.

Nahid made the announcement on behalf of the platform in a massive rally at the Central Shaheed Minar.

Despite heavy rain, thousands of people from various parts of the capital gathered at Shaheed Minar to join the rally, protesting the killings during the quota reform protests and demanding the release of all arrested and detained students and individuals.

Every corner of Shaheed Minar was filled to capacity with protesters.

The crowd, undeterred by the adverse weather conditions, continues to swell as more people arrive to express their solidarity and demand justice.

The gathering follows an online message from Asif Mahmud, coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student movement, who urged students to gather at Shaheed Minar at 3pm on Saturday.

By 2:30pm, groups of protesters from Dhanmondi, Rabindra Sarobar, Press Club, Paltan, and Badda areas had begun their march towards Shaheed Minar.
