Mobile internet finally activate after a long time

Mobile internet service has been activated after being closed for 10 consecutive days due to situation surrounding quota reform movement. This service launched across the country from 3 pm on Sunday (28).

Earlier, today at around 11:00 am in a briefing at the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak announced the launch of mobile internet service from 3:00 pm.

BTRC Chairman Engineer Mohiuddin Ahmed was present in the meeting. Apart from mobile operators, representatives of Bikas, Cash, Rocket and Upay were also present in the meeting.

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that there was a meeting with mobile operators at BTRC in the morning. In the meeting we decided that we can restore mobile internet connectivity from 3 pm today. Mobile network will be launched across the country from 3 pm onwards. Mobile operator companies will also prepare as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, broadband internet service was resumed on the night of July 23 after being closed for five consecutive days. However, despite the introduction of broadband, the government has not launched mobile internet.

On the other hand, three social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and TikTok are still closed in Bangladesh. BTRC has not yet announced when these platforms will be opened. Many users are active on these platforms through VPN.
