Bangladesh Railway has suspended train services due to the safety of passengers during the quota reform movement. In this situation, the company is refunding the money to those who have bought tickets in advance.
Responsible sources of Dhaka Divisional Commercial Department of Bangladesh Railway confirmed the matter to the media on Thursday night.
However, train movement has been stopped across the country since the July 19. According to the decision, the train ticket money is being refunded to the passengers from that day to the 24th July. Those who purchased from online, they are being refunded online and those who bought from the counter, the money is being refunded against the ticket through the counter. During this period, the ticket money of the inter-country trains that have stopped running is being refunded from the counter of the interstate.
On Thursday (July 25) at noon, the Railway Minister Zillul Hakim said also said that tickets have to be refunded as the train is not running. This is the biggest loss. So far, more than Tk 16.29 crore has been refunded to the passengers. Apart from this, the total loss of the railway in the eastern and western regions was Tk 22 crore 3 lakh 8 thousand.
