The names of at least hundreds of cadres of various posts in Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) and government officials of various departments are coming up who got jobs through leaked questions. Many of them are still working in different departments while some are abroad.

CID and other intelligence agencies of the country are preparing a list of these beneficiaries. The high command of the government has been informed about them. Besides, their activities have been brought under monitoring. The police said that sufficient information is being collected about those whose names have come up.

According to the police, the involvement of influential people in the question paper leak is also known. Some officials of PSC regularly received money from selling questions. Even a section of them from where the question was printed was getting it regularly. The names of those who took the money are also known.

After being arrested for allegedly being involved in leaking the question papers of PSC, the former driver of the organization Syed Abed Ali and other accused gave various information about the beneficiaries during the police interrogation. They said that apart from PSC, they also leaked the question papers of other government jobs. According to the information provided by them, a sweeper of PSC is also involved in this circle.

On July 6 and 7, 17 people including Deputy Director of PSC Abu Zafar and Jahangir Alam were arrested from different areas of the capital.

A senior CID official said that Abed Ali and others have been leaking question papers for more than 10 years. Under the leadership of Abed Ali, the group has about 50 members. 17 of them have been arrested. Gang members have taken cover outside Dhaka. Almost everyone's name and mobile number have been found. However, some mobile phones are found to be off. Efforts are underway to identify their location using information technology.

He also said that the BCS cadres from the leaked question papers are working in various ministries and offices. Their number will be hundreds. But coming up with names does not mean that they are involved. That's why everything is being reviewed. No one will be harassed unnecessarily. Only if government policymakers ask for action against those responsible, police will take action. The movement of staff where BCS questions are printed is also being monitored.
