60 mm of rain in Dhaka in 180 minutes

The city dwellers have suffered a lot today due to several hours of rain in the capital Dhaka. It rained continuously for three hours across the capital on Friday morning from 6 am to 9 am.

According to Meteorological Office, 60 mm of rain has fallen in Dhaka in these three hours or 180 minutes.  Incessant rains have caused waterlogging in various places.

There is knee-deep water on the main road of Shantinagar, Mouchak, Bashundhara residential area.  Due to heavy rains, the hardworking people have suffered greatly following the waterlogging. Several private cars, CNG-run auto-rickshaws were also seen stuck on the streets.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (July 12) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over four divisions, at many places over other four divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy rain falls at places over the country in the next 24 hours from 9 am this morning.
