The 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations are scheduled to commence on Sunday, except for the Sylhet division.

This year's exams will adhere to a revised syllabus and specific guidelines issued by the education boards.

The rules are:

Candidates must be seated in the exam hall at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
The exam will begin with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) followed by a written (creative/theoretical) section.
MCQs will be allocated 30 minutes for 30 marks, while the creative section will have 2 hours and 30 minutes for 70 marks.
Subjects with practical exams will have 25 minutes for 25 marks for MCQs and 2 hours and 35 minutes for 50 marks for the written section.
Exams will run continuously without breaks until completion as indicated on the question papers.
Admit cards must be collected from the respective school heads.
OMR sheets must be filled out carefully, ensuring accurate details without folding the answer sheets.
Candidates must pass the theoretical, MCQ, and practical exams separately.
Candidates are required to take only the exams listed on their registration and admit cards and are prohibited from sitting for any other subjects.
Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in exam halls, and only non-programmable scientific calculators are allowed.
These guidelines are aimed at ensuring smooth conduct and integrity of the examinations across all centers.
In the Sylhet division, the government has postponed the exams until July 8 due to flooding.

The schedule of postponed examinations, scheduled for July 9, will be notified later through a notification.
