On the occasion of the 22nd founding anniversary of Mawlana Bhasani University of Science and Technology (MBSTU), has been held on 12 October 2021 through various programs. Going with the program, Professor ARM Solaiman, Vice-Chancellor (additional responsibilities) along with Professor. Md. Sirajul Islam (Treasurer), Deans of different faculties, Registrar and the Prof. Mohammad Mokaddes Ali (Convener of the 22nd Founding Anniversary Celebration Committee) inaugurated the founding anniversary by hoisting the national flag and the university flag and flying festoons and balloons at 10 am in front of the administrative building of the University. Following that, later a joyous demonstration led by the Vice-Chancellor circled the main thoroughfares of the campus.

Afterwards, the Vice-Chancellor along with everyone offered prayers at the shrine of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Mawlana Bhasani and cut the cake in front of the administrative building. Besides, prayers and milad mahfil are organized at the Central Jame Mosque after Zuhr.
Deans, Registrars, Chairmen of various departments, Hall Provosts, Teachers and Officers-Employees, Students, Officers Association, 3rd and 4th Class Employees' Association and University Chhatra League leaders participated in all the programs held.
On 12 October 1999, the then and present Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone of this university.
