Apart from two rivers, water levels have reduced in all the major rivers of the country, says the flood forecast centre
Water levels in the major rivers across the country are gradually receding as rainfall has reduced upstream.
According to the Flood Forecast and Warning Centre, water levels have receded in all major rivers as of Saturday, and will continue to do so for the next 72 hours.
Currently water levels at Padma’s Shureshwar point are flowing 16 cm above danger level and Turag’s Kaliakoir point 24 cm above danger point, said the flood alert statement.
According to the alert, water levels at Padma have receded three points below danger level, while levels at Dhaleshwari have gone down two points.
Water levels at Garai River’s Kamarkhali point, Kalinga River’s Taraghat point, Lakkha River’s Narayanganj point, Atrai River’s Baghbari point, Meghna River’s Chandpur point are also now below danger level.
In the last 24 hours to Saturday, Panchagarh station recorded 63mm of rain while Bhairab Bazar station recorded 38 mm of rain.
