On the occasion of National Mourning Day, Thakurgaon 50 BGB Battalion has distributed relief among the poor and helpless people in the border areas. The relief was distributed in Haripur, Kathaldangi, Beurjhari, Paria and Barshalupara border areas on Saturday.
Also present at the occasion was Thakurgaon Sector Headquarters Director, Lt. Col. Md. Zahidul Islam, PSC. Also present were BGB companies, BOP commanders, local chairmen, UP members and representatives of print and electronic media.
Lt. Col. Md. Zahidul Islam said that BGB will be by the side of the border people in all the critical moments of the border people including corona virus.
On the occasion of National Mourning Day, Thakurgaon also held 50 BGB Quran recitations, special munajat and various programs including speeches of the great architect of independence, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and videos of autobiographical documentaries among the soldiers.
It may be mentioned that 850 kg of rice, 150 kg of pulses, 150 kg of sugar, 150 kg of oil, 150 packets of salt, 300 kg of potatoes and 150 kg of soap were distributed among the poor.
