Six DB men arrested in Feni for committing robbery

Feni police arrested six members of the Detective Branch of police at district DB police office on Tuesday night on charge of committing a robbery at Dhaka-Chattogram Highway on Sunday, August 8, 2021.  

The arrested were identified as Feni DB police officer-in-charge inspector Md Saiful Islam, sub-inspector Motaher Hossain, SI Mizanur Rahman, SI Nurul Haque, assistant sub-inspector Abhijit Barua and ASI Masud Rana.


The police also recovered 15 gold bars from them, said Feni police superintendent Khondokar Nurunnabi.

The police super said that the arrested intercepted the car of gold trader Gopal Kanti Das on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway on Sunday and snatched 20 gold bars from him.


 
The victim filed a written complaint in this connection with the police super and following the complaint the six were arrested, the police official said, adding that a case was filed in this connection.

The police were trying to recover the rest of the gold bars, he added.

Feni model police officer-in-charge Md Nizam Uddin said that the arrested were sent to jail on Wednesday morning.
