World Bank projects 5.1% GDP growth for BD in 2021-22

The World Bank has projected that Bangladesh's GDP growth will be 5.1 percent in the next 2021-22 fiscal year.

The WB revealed the projection on Tuesday night in the update of its Global Economic Prospects report for June.

This is 1.8 percentage points more than last January's report.

The report states that the GDP growth of Bangladesh will be 3.6 percent in the current fiscal year.

However, the government has set a growth target of 6.1 percent for the current fiscal year and 7.2 percent for the next fiscal year.
