Talks between BD, Maldives being held at PM’s office

Bangladesh and the Maldives began bilateral talks at the prime minister’s office in Dhaka on Thursday.

The Bangladesh delegation at the talks is being led by prime minister Sheikh Hasina, while visiting president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is leading the Maldivian side.

Before the formal delegation-level talks, the two leaders held a tête-à-tête.

The Maldivian president was received by prime minister Sheikh Hasina at the Tiger gate of the International Conference Centre.

A flower bouquet was also presented to the state guest.

UNB has learnt that a number of MoUs are likely to be signed after the bilateral talks to bolster cooperation in various sectors between the two countries.

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina and Maldivian president Solih will witness the signing of the MoUs.
