Amid the concrete life of Dhaka city, handicraft shops in Doyel Chattar area in front of Dhaka University's Curzon Hall offer a vast choice of art pieces.

Bangladesh is well-known for its art, culture and tradition. The traditional masterpieces of handicraft makers will attract everyone. The mastery of art, colour and quality can be seen in every item of the handicrafts there.

Table lamps, wall lamps, potteries, showpieces, traditional handicrafts including handmade bamboo products, wooden products, jute products, and other decorative things are available at the place.

These products can be found in some other places of Dhaka and across the country. People buy such products to beautify and decorate their houses and offices.

There is a huge demand of Bangladeshi handicrafts in other countries of the world. Proper guidance and channel of exporting these goods can change the fate of the handicraft makers, experts said.

Several handicraft makers and shopkeepers claimed that they are not getting the fair price for their products. They expressed their hopes to get a good price for their hard work and talent.

Experts said that more and more marketing of these products and arranging fairs can accelerate the selling of handicraft items in the country. The products need to be widely introduced in the other countries of the world, they added.
