Biman MD dropped from the list of new secretaries

The government in an unusual move revised its decision of promoting five senior officials to the rank of a secretary and dropped the name of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited managing director and chief executive officer Md Mokabbir Hossain for the list.

A revised order was issued late on Thursday in this regard, notifying the promotion of only four officials to the rank of a secretary.

In the initial or order Mokabbir, who is also an additional secretary, was named as the railway ministry secretary.

Additional secretary of the civil aviation and tourism ministry Mokabbir was made the managing director and CEO of Biman on September 12, 2019.

Among the newly-promoted secretaries, Ramendranath Bishwas, who was attached to the finance division, has been sent to the Planning Commission as a member.
