In Tangail's Ghatail, a drug-addicted man has been accused of murdering his own father. Drug addicted son Hasmat Ali hacked his father Sumed Ali (60) with a spade.
The incident took place at Hengarchala village in Dhalapara union of the upazila on Saturday night (October 17).
Police and locals said Hasmat was addicted to drugs. He used to beat his parents every day for buying drugs. For this reason, Hasmat had been chained at home for the last three years. He was angry with his father. He had earlier threatened to kill his father several times. On Saturday night, Hasmat broke free from his restraints, entered the house and hacked his father to death with a spade.
Ghatail Police Inspector (Investigation) Saiful Islam said Police have arrested Hasmat Ali key suspect in the incident. The case is being prepared.
