Four more killed in Rohingya clash

Four more Rohingya men were killed during a clash between two groups at Ukhia Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar district on Tuesday night.

Two of the deceased were identified as Mohammad and Gias Uddin.

With this, a total of seven Rohingyas were killed in internal clashes. The four others who were killed earlier are Imam Sharif, Shamsul Alam, Md Yasin and Samira Akter.

Today’s clash took place in Charmua Tablig Jamayat Markaj area of Lambashia  around 8pm.

Four cases were filed in this connection while police arrested accused Ziaur Rahmanin.

Tension escalated in the area and general Rohingyas are living in panic now.

Assistant Superintendent of Cox’s Bazar Police (ASP) Rafiqul Islam said after the incident, additional armed battalions were deployed in the area.

Meanwhile, nine Rohingya men were arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) along with arms at Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Tuesday morning in connection with the previous incidents.
