Coronavirus: Global death toll climbs to 969,301

The global coronavirus death toll climbed to 969,301 at 11:30 am till Tuesday (05:30 GMT), according to latest data from worldometer.

So far 31,485,777 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus while 23,113,726 are considered recovered in the 213 countries and territories since the virus emerged in China last December.
Besides, the number of active cases are 7,402,750.

With the fresh tally in the 48-hour, 7,898 people died from coronavirus while 498,729 people have tested positive for COVID-19, and 526,678 patients have made fully recovery.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, the US has gone up to 204,506 deaths, followed by Brazil with 137,350; India  88,965 ; Mexico 73,697; UK 41,788, Italy 35,724; France 31,338; Iran 24,478; Russia 19,489; Indonesia 9,677; Bangladesh 4,979 and Saudi Arabia 4,512 respectively, worldometer reported.
