Dinajpur’s Ghora Ghat upazila nirbahi officer Wahida Khanam, 35, and her father Omar Ali were severely injured in an attack by unidentified attackers on early Thursday.
Dinajpur additional deputy commissioner Shariful Islam said that Wahida and her father would be flown to Dhaka for better treatment.
Wahida was undergoing treatment at Rangpur Community College Hospital’s intensive care unit while her father was admitted Rangpur Medical College Hospital, the official said.
Rangpur police superintendent Biplab Kumar Sarker said that the armed forces’ division was sending a helicopter to move the injured to Dhaka.
The police were investigating the incident, Biplab said, adding that details of the attack could not be known immediately.
