Ace Bangladeshi golfer Siddikur Rahman is expecting to resume his international campaign after a five month break as the Asian Tour decided to resume its season with the Shinhan Donghae Open in South Korea in September.
The two-time Asian Tour winner last played in an international tournament in February-March in Bandar Malaysia Open before Asian Tour postponed all its competitions, including Bangabandhu Cup Golf Open in Dhaka, on March 9 due to COVID-19 Pandemic.
‘Of course, I will go to play as they [Asian Tour] are trying to resume the season. But everything depends on the situation,’ Siddik Told New Age on Tuesday. ‘As per rules, they [AT tournament authority] will contact me three weeks before the tournament,’ he added.
The Shinhan Donghae Open is expected to be the first event to tee off since the global COVID-19 pandemic forced the season to be suspended in March. The tournament has been scheduled to tee off at Bear’s Best Cheongna Golf Club located in Incheon, Korea from September 10-13.
