Air travelers will have to count more penny from now on as the airport regulatory authorities have imposed new fees in two categories.
Passengers will have to pay ‘passenger safety’ and ‘airport development’ fees to travel from any airport in Bangladesh from next month.
The fees will be charged from August 1, said a circular issued by Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
The circular said that in the case of civil aviation, all outbound passengers will have to pay the fees.
Passengers who travel within the domestic routes will have to pay an airport development fee of Tk100 and passenger safety fee of Tk70 per trip.
For travelling to SAARC countries, passengers will have to pay $5 as airport development fees and $6 as passenger safety fees. Other than SAARC countries, both the fees will be $10.
The order has already been sent to all domestic and foreign airlines.
