Head-on Collision Between Two Buses in Faridpur Leaves 5 Dead, 20 Injured

A tragic head-on collision between two buses in Faridpur has claimed the lives of five people and injured at least 20 passengers.

 The accident occurred around 4 AM on Tuesday (October 15) at Mallikpur in the Sadar Upazila. The collision involved two buses—‘Jhinaidah Paribahan,’ traveling from Dhaka to Jhinaidah, and ‘Green Express,’ traveling from Jhinaidah to Dhaka.

Highway police and the fire service are conducting a joint rescue operation.

Reports indicate that at least 15 of the injured passengers have been admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. However, the identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been confirmed.

 


Mohammad Salauddin Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karimpur Highway Police, confirmed the incident. He stated that efforts are ongoing to identify the victims. Both buses involved in the accident have been towed to the Karimpur Highway Police Station for further investigation.
