Day 2 of the second Test between India and Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur was called off on Saturday due to relentless rain, with no play possible. However, due to rain, Shanto-Rohit could not enter the field on the second day of Kanpur Test.
Rain had allowed only 35 overs of action on the first day where Bangladesh reached 107-3 in their first innings after being sent to bat first.
Play was scheduled to start earlier than the scheduled time of 10 am on Saturday (September 28) to make up for the first day's deficit. But it started raining at 8:50 am. The match officials have officially announced that the start of the game will be delayed due to rain.
However, it rains several times from morning to afternoon. For that, the umpires were forced to declare the second day's game abandoned.
Earlier on Friday, the match was not held at the scheduled time due to rain on the first day. Due to rain at the beginning of the day, about 1 hour of the match was cut. The game started but rain hit for the second time before the lunch break. As soon as a few overs were played back from the break, the skies of Kanpur were once again covered with clouds.
Due to this, the umpires were forced to stop the game. After waiting for a long time, the rain did not stop and the umpire announced the end of the first day's game. Bangladesh collected 107 runs after losing 3 wickets after playing 35 overs on the first day.
Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim remain unbeaten on 40 and 6 respectively.
