On September 17, Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori met with General Waker-Uz-Zaman, OSP, SGP, psc, Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army.
During the meeting, Ambassador IWAMA discussed cooperation with the interim government and inquired about the current situation regarding law and order restoration. He emphasized the need for security measures for Japanese nationals and support for their activities and companies in Bangladesh.
Both parties also exchanged views on enhancing bilateral defense cooperation and strengthening defense relations between Japan and Bangladesh.
