A murder case was filed against 13 individuals, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, over the death of Mahmudur Rahman Saikat, a 19-year-old student at Mohammadpur Government Model College.
The case was filed by Saikat's father, Md Mahabubur Rahman, at Mohammadpur police station on Sunday.
The other accused in the case include former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former textiles and jute minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former information state minister Mohammad A Arafat, and former police chief Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.
Besides, 30 to 40 unidentified police officers and policemen are also accused.
The complaint alleges that Mahmudur Rahman Saikat was shot and killed on the afternoon of July 19 in front of the Nurjahan Road Mohammadpur Government Primary School.
