The Dhaka North Awami League has postponed its rally and peace march on Tuesday to protest “the criminal and anti-government activities of the BNP and Jamaat before its office adjacent to the Tejgaon truck stand.
In a press release on Tuesday, the unit said the programs had been suspended for unavoidable reasons, adding that it would announce future events later.
The BNP previously announced that it would hold a nationwide black flag march on Tuesday in all cities, districts and upazilas to demand the dissolution of the “illegal dummy” parliament and an election under a non-partisan neutral government.
Later, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said his party would hold “peace and development” rallies on Tuesday in all cities, districts and upazilas of the country.
