4 killed as truck, pick-up van collide in Sirajganj

At least four people were killed and two injured in a collision between a truck and pick-up van in Sirajganj this morning.

The accident took place in Ullapara upazila around 7:00am, reports our Pabna correspondent, quoting police and witnesses.

The deceased are Sujan Sheikh, 32, and Rabbi Hossain, 24, from Gaibandha; and Masud Rana, 30, and Ayaan Sheikh, 4, of Natore.

Bardul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Hatikumrul-Bonpara Police Station, confirmed the incident to The FP.

The police official said the accident occurred on Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway when a mango-laden Dhaka-bound pickup collided with a cattle truck, leaving six persons critically injured. Three cattle were also killed in the collision.

The four died on the way to a local hospital, said the OC, adding that the two injured are being treated there.
