Pacer Ebadot Hossain, who will be joining Bangladesh team as a back-up in Harare for the final ODI Zimbabwe, believes that his training with the Bangladesh Tigers camp in Khulna will help him to well against Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh, who trail the ongoing three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe 1-0 after a five-wicket loss in the series-opener on Friday, have a few injury concerns.
Batsman Liton Das has already been ruled out of the entire series with a hamstring injury while pacer Shoriful Islam was also unable to complete his 10-over spell in the first ODI after apparently hurting his knee while trying to grab a return catch off his own bowling.
As a result, BCB has decided to sent Ebadot and opener Mohammad Naim as back-ups for the final ODI, scheduled for August 10.
‘I was in Khulna to play games against the High Performance unit. I had been sent there to play in white balls. So, to play in this format [ODI] won’t be a problem,’ said Ebadot on Saturday.
‘Initially I was expected to travel with the team, however, I couldn’t. I will try my best to do something good for my side as I have been undergoing the training and if not it could push me backwards mentally therefore I am very confident.’
The second ODI of the series will be held at Harare today.
