Stocks opened higher on Wednesday morning after the key index crossed the nervous line of 6,000-mark in the previous session.
In the first 30 minutes into the trade, the benchmark DSEX index gained 54 points or 0.90 percent to 6,077, driven mainly by financials, and food and allied.
Other indices, the Shariah-based DSES index rose 5 points or 0.90 percent to 1,295 and the blue-chip DS30 index moved up 12 points or 0.58 percent to 2,208.
