Abdul Matin Khasru laid to rest in Cumilla

Former Law Minister and Supreme Court Bar Association President Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru was laid to rest in his family graveyard in Burichang upazila of Cumilla on Thursday.
 
Media report said he was buried at Mirpur village at 4:00 pm after two Namaj-e-Janazas held at Burichang and Brahmanpara upazilas.

President Advocate Abul Hashem Khan, its General Secretary and Burichang Upazila Chairman Md Akhlaq Haider, Brahmanpara Upazila Chairman Abu Zaher, former Upazila Chairman Sajjad Hossain Swapan, BNP Vice-Chairman Shawkat Mahmud, Principal Selim Reza Sourav, among others, attended the janaza.
 
Abdul Matin Khasru, an Awami League presidium member and also a former law minister,  died at a hospital in the capital on Wednesday afternoon. He was 71.
 
He had been undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka since16 March. He was put on life support since last Tuesday.
 
Abdul Matin Khasru was the incumbent president of the Supreme Court Bar Association  (SCBA). He was elected MP of Awami League from Cumilla-5 constituency. When the Awami League came to power in 1996, he became the law minister.
Born in 1950 in Cumilla, Abdul Matin Khasru vibrantly participated in the Liberation War.
