On March 18, Rafiur Rabbi wrote a letter to the then superintendent of police in Narayanganj and accused Narayanganj 4 MP Shamim Osman, his son Ayon Osman, Azmeri Osman, son of former Narayanganj 5 MP late Nasim Osman, and others of being involved in the murder. The case was then handed over to RAB.

Later, RAB arrested Bhromor in connection with the murder. Bhromor gave confessional statement before court, revealing the identities of 11 people involved in the murder.
