The second consignment of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, purchased by Bangladesh from the Serum Institute of India, will arrive in Bangladesh on 22 February.

Beximco Pharmaceuticals Managing Director Nazmul Hasan Papon came up with the disclosure after receiving Covid-19 vaccine at Kurmitola General Hospital on Monday.

He also said that Bangladesh will get around 20/30 lakh more doses of the vaccine in the upcoming consignment.

The first consignment of 50 lakh doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine arrived in Dhaka on 25 January.

Earlier on 5 November last year, the health ministry signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding with the Serum Institute in India and Beximco to import the vaccine developed by Oxford-AstraZeneca.
