The High Court (HC) Tuesday ordered two Dhaka city corporations to take effective steps to control the spread of Dengue mosquitoes in the capital, reports BSS. A High Court division bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order while hearing a writ petition filed by rights group Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB) on air pollution. The court asked mayors of two Dhaka City Corporations and their chief executive officers to spray insecticides properly all the wards to kill the Aedes mosquitoes and submit a report on this within two weeks. “Two reports were submitted Tuesday from city corporations saying they have taken different steps to control the spread Aedes mosquitoes,” said Manjil Morshed, who moved the plea for HRPB. The court has set July 17 to hold further hearing in the matter.
