15 more COVID deaths reported in country

With the deaths of 15 more people in the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on Friday, Bangladesh's COVID-19 death count now stands at 6,036.

During this timeline, 1,469 fresh cases were reported, taking the total virus cases to 4,17,475.

Health authorities also reported 1,439 more recoveries in a day, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,35,027.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Friday afternoon.

In the last 24 hours, 114 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 13,747 samples and tested 13,521.

With this, a total of 24,18,423 samples were tested in the country.

So far, the infection rate is 17.26 per cent, the recovery rate is 80.25 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.45 per cent.

Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
