Ayesha Siddika Minni, a condemned prisoner in a case filed over murder of her husband Rifat Sharif in Barguna, made telephonic  conversation with her father.

Sources said the death-row inmate Minni made phone call to her father Mozammel Haque Kishore from the jail Thursday morning.
During the conversation, she said “ Father, I am innocent. I am not involved in the murder. Truth will take its own course. Please, file an appeal against the lower court verdict and try to secure my release. I am not well in the condemned cell. “

The previous day, a lower court of Barguna sentenced Minni and five others to death in Rifat murder case.

Rifat, son of Dulal Sharif, was hacked to death in broad daylight in the district town on June 26 last year.

Minni  went to college to collect her exam routine and Rifat accompanied her.

When they came out of the collage gate, the murderers encircled them and started to hit Rifat with sharp weapon.

CCTV video shows Minni trying to save her husband from the attackers. It creates an impression that she is innocent. But police claimed otherwise. Within a few days,  police said Minni was one of the planers of the attack and involved in the murder.
Superintendent of Police at Barguna held a press conference in this regard.

Accordingly, police arrested Minni and pressed charge-sheet against her. Minni also submitted confessional statement before the lower court. Later, she filed a petition with the High Court challenging inclusion of her name in the case. But the Apex Court examined case dossier and rejected the petition, leaving her to stand trial.
